How I ranked it

I started with MYHockey Rankings' top 100 AAA teams in each age group, 12U to 18U, across six seasons, 2020-21 through 2025-26, and scored the 175 clubs with enough ranked teams. Most of the score is team strength, averaged over only the age groups a club fields. About a fifth is breadth, so a club with teams in more of the six age groups scores higher there. Recent seasons count more, 15U counts the most, and ties go to team strength.

What this is, and what it isn't

This is game results and nothing else. USA Hockey weighed more than that: past performance, player development and advancement, facilities and operations, and geography. Not every club applied, either. Per USA Hockey's Bob Mancini, as reported by Hockey Journal, over 80 programs applied and 29 were invited. A club that isn't in the DL could be out for geography, or could have never applied. I can't see that from here, so I'm not guessing. The numbers are on the page.
