Terms of Service

The short version: shop the drops, book a video, play in DangleVerse, and treat the rink like the rink — respect the House Rules, know your videos come from a computer program wearing BJD's voice, and remember every fan submission he can use is fair game. Full terms below.

Last updated: August 9, 2026

Welcome to Big John Dangles ("BJD," "we," "us," "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") cover everything on this site: the merch drops, Custom Videos, BJD On Demand, DangleVerse, The First Line email list, Sponsor BJD / Collabs, and the drop waitlist. By visiting, creating an account, or buying anything here, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the site.

These Terms work alongside our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy. Where a section below is specific to one product (Custom Videos, BJD On Demand, or DangleVerse), that section's rules apply on top of the general rules — not instead of them.

1. Who can use this site

You need to be old enough, in your state, to enter into a contract to buy anything here. If you're a parent or guardian buying for your kid, that's on you and that's fine — plenty of BJD's audience is hockey families.

DangleVerse has its own, stricter age rule — see Section 6. You can browse the rest of the site at any age; DangleVerse specifically requires an account, and accounts require you to be 13 or older.

2. Accounts

Some parts of the site (mainly DangleVerse) need an account. Keep your login to yourself — you're responsible for what happens under your account. Give us accurate information. One account per person.

3. Merch

Drops are limited edition. When we say a drop is capped at a specific number, numbered, or one-time-only with no restock, that's the deal — we don't manufacture more once a drop sells out. Product photos are a close representation, not a guarantee; color can shift slightly by screen. We can limit quantities per person or per order.

Merch returns and refunds follow our Refund Policy — read that page for the actual window, condition requirements, and process. Nothing in this document changes what's posted there.

4. Custom Videos and BJD On Demand

These are two different products, priced and delivered differently, so each gets its own section below. The short version of why they're separate: Custom Videos is a scripted, tiered product with day-scale delivery and built-in revisions; BJD On Demand is a single, instant product delivered in minutes with no revision step. Same guy, same voice, different production process and different deal.

4a. Custom Videos

Custom Videos are the tiered shoutout products (currently The Chirp, The Gangster, and Hockey Church) built from the brief you submit — names, occasion, what you want said. Delivery windows and revision counts are whatever's posted on the product page at the time you order; that page is the source of truth on timing, length, and what's included, not this document.

What you're submitting when you order: the names, situations, and requests in your brief. Keep it hockey-adjacent and keep it legal — don't ask for anything that's hateful, targets a real person with harassment, sexualizes a minor, or asks BJD to say something false and damaging about a real, identifiable third party. We can decline or ask you to revise a brief that crosses these lines, and we can decline a request for any reason.

Delivery and usage: once delivered, the video is yours to keep, watch, and share personally (post it, send it, put it in the group chat). You may not resell it, use it in paid advertising for another business, or claim BJD endorses anything beyond the words in the video itself, without our written OK.

Refunds: Custom Videos are personalized, made-to-order, and final sale — see our Refund Policy for the exact language. If what you receive doesn't match your brief or misses on quality, contact us and we'll make it right with a re-cut. That promise is a service commitment, not a right to a cash refund on a video that was made correctly to spec.

4b. BJD On Demand

BJD On Demand is our instant, one-of-one video product — built from your brief and delivered in minutes, not days. This product is produced with the help of AI, including BJD's own trained voice and likeness system — it isn't a live human recording session, and the finished video reflects that: quick, personalized, occasionally imperfect the way a fast take can be.

Submission rules: same content lines as Custom Videos above — no hate, no harassment of a real named third party, nothing sexual involving a minor, nothing you don't have the right to ask for.

Delivery and usage: yours to keep and share, same as Custom Videos. No revision step is included in this product — if something came out clearly broken (wrong name, garbled audio, technical failure) contact us and we'll fix it; a video that was generated correctly to your brief isn't eligible for a redo just because you want a different take.

Refunds: final sale, same position as Custom Videos, same quality-miss exception — see our Refund Policy.

5. Sponsor BJD, Collabs, and The First Line

Sponsor BJD / Collabs: submitting an inquiry through these pages is just that — an inquiry. It's not an offer, not a contract, and doesn't create any exclusivity or confidentiality obligation on either side. We may not respond to every submission, and reaching out doesn't guarantee a deal, a reply, or that we'll keep your idea confidential if we haven't signed something separate that says so.

The First Line (email list): joining means you're opting in to receive email from us. You can unsubscribe any time using the link in any email. See our Privacy Policy for what we do with your email address.

6. DangleVerse

DangleVerse is BJD's interactive world on this site — the games, boards, and chirp features, including Rank My Flow, Chirp Battle, Chirp Me, and The Big Board, plus anything we add to DangleVerse later. By creating a DangleVerse account or using any DangleVerse feature, you agree to this section on top of the general Terms above.

6a. Who can play

You must be 13 or older to create a DangleVerse account. When you sign up, you confirm you're 13 or older. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13, and we don't offer accounts to anyone who tells us they're under 13. If we ever learn an account belongs to someone under 13, we'll close it and delete what we reasonably can.

If you're between 13 and 17, signing up means you're confirming you have a parent or guardian's permission to use DangleVerse.

6b. House Rules — what you can and can't chirp about

DangleVerse runs on hockey trash talk. That's the whole point. But there are lines:

  • Keep it hockey. Chirps and situations should be about hockey: the game, the culture, the rink, the locker room. Trash talk that's normal in hockey culture is fine. Real-world threats or violence outside that context aren't, and we'll block or remove them.
  • No hate. Nothing targeting a protected class — race, religion, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or similar. Not up for debate.
  • No politics. DangleVerse isn't a place for political content, government figures, or political debate. It's a hockey app.
  • First names, not last names. A first name in a chirp is normal hockey talk ("tell my buddy Jake he can't skate"). Full names or other details that identify a specific real person beyond a first name aren't allowed.
  • No targeting real kids under 18 by name. Even with the first-names rule above, you can't ask BJD to roast a specific, identifiable real kid. Generic youth-hockey situations are fine ("my son's 10U team," "squirt tryouts") — a chirp aimed at one real, named minor is not.
  • No sexual content, self-harm content, or graphic violence. Every submission gets checked for this before it's generated or posted, no exceptions.
  • You're responsible for who you send it to. Some DangleVerse features let you send or forward a chirp to someone else — a teammate, a coach, a ref. That's on you: only send a chirp to someone you actually know and who'd expect hockey trash talk from you. Don't use DangleVerse to contact, harass, or embarrass someone who hasn't asked to hear from you.

Every submission — the situation you type, the chirp you write — gets reviewed. We can decline, edit, or remove anything that breaks these rules, at any time, without explaining why.

6c. BJD's chirps are written by AI

The chirps, roasts, and heat scores you get back from BJD are generated by AI. BJD's voice is tuned to sound like him, but AI can make mistakes: it can misread a situation, miss the point, or occasionally produce something that doesn't land right. Nothing BJD's AI generates is a statement of fact about you, your team, or anyone you mention — it's entertainment, not a factual claim, a rating, or advice.

We work to catch bad output before it reaches you or goes public, but we don't promise every chirp will be accurate, sensible, or free of errors.

6d. What happens to what you submit

When you send a chirp, describe a hockey situation, or submit a Flow ranking, you're giving BJD content he can use.

Specifically: you grant BJD a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable license to use, reproduce, edit, adapt, publish, perform, and promote what you submit — your text, your handle or first name, and BJD's response to it — in BJD's content, in any format, on any platform, now or in the future. You don't get paid for this, and we don't need to ask you again each time. That's the deal, and it's always been the deal: every chirp you send can be used in BJD's content — his call, always.

If your submission makes it onto The Big Board, only your handle (or first name, per the House Rules) shows publicly. We never show your full name, your contact info, or any other identifying detail you didn't put in the chirp text yourself. Your photo works differently: Section 6h below covers it. If you've uploaded a photo and given us photo permission there, it can be shown on a board or a card the way that section lays out. If you haven't uploaded one, nothing in this section puts a photo of you anywhere.

You still own what you wrote. This license doesn't take that away — it just means BJD can use it without asking you again.

6e. You're responsible for what you submit and what you tell us

You're on the hook for what you type. When you use DangleVerse, you're telling us:

  • You're actually 13 or older (or, if 13-17, that you have permission to be here).
  • What you submit is your own and doesn't rip off anyone else's work.
  • The hockey situation you describe is something you're comfortable putting BJD's name behind, and you're not using DangleVerse to target, harass, or embarrass a real person outside what these Terms allow.
  • You're following the House Rules above, including who you send or forward a chirp to.

If you lie to us about your age, your identity, or anything else, or if you break these Terms, that's on you, not us. BJD isn't responsible for damages, disputes, or consequences that come from a user submitting false information, breaking these Terms, or misusing content they got from DangleVerse (including a chirp they were given, a chirp they wrote and had scored, or a chirp they forwarded to someone else).

6f. Moderation and removal

We review submissions before they go public, and we can remove, edit, or decline anything at any point, with or without notice, for any reason connected to these Terms. Getting a chirp scored or generated doesn't guarantee it stays up, gets posted, or makes The Big Board.

6g. No promises about how DangleVerse works

DangleVerse is provided as-is. We don't guarantee it'll always be available, error-free, or that BJD's AI will always get the joke right. Features, chirp behavior, scoring, and rules can change.

6h. Photo submissions (Rank My Flow)

Some DangleVerse features, right now just Rank My Flow, ask you to upload a photo of yourself. Uploading a photo is optional. You can play every text-based DangleVerse feature without ever uploading one.

Who can submit a photo. Same age rule as the rest of DangleVerse: you have to be 13 or older. If you're under 18, uploading a photo means you're telling us a parent or guardian is okay with it being scored, shown publicly, and shared the way this section describes. That's the same kind of permission you'd need from them before posting it yourself anywhere else.

It's you, or you have permission. The photo you submit has to be of you, or of people who told you it's okay for their photo to be scored, shown, and shared this way. When you upload it, you're vouching for that.

What happens to your photo. Once you submit it: (1) an AI system, including outside AI providers we use, looks at it to come up with your score and BJD's roast; (2) a real person reviews it before anything goes public; and, if it's approved, (3) it gets shown on the public board and printed on your card inside DangleVerse. Section 6d gives us the right to use what you submit, and that covers your photo the same way it covers your chirp text.

It can leave the site. Your card, photo included, is built to be downloaded and shared to social media and other places off bigjohndangles.com. You can share it, and so can we. A link to your card can also generate a preview image of your photo automatically, wherever that link gets pasted, even if nobody re-uploads the file. Once your photo is shared, downloaded, or previewed somewhere else, we don't control what happens to that copy. This consent covers us showing your photo and letting people share it. It can't undo a copy someone else already has.

You, or your parent or guardian if you're under 18, can ask us to take it down. Contact us and we'll remove your photo from the public board and your card, and delete it from our systems going forward. We can't reach into someone else's phone, a screenshot already taken, a link preview another platform already cached, or a copy already posted somewhere before your request. We can only control what we're doing.

How long we keep it. We keep your photo until you ask us to remove it.

7. Suspending or closing your account

We can suspend or close your account at any time if we believe you've broken these Terms — anywhere on the site, not just in DangleVerse. We don't owe you advance notice to do this. You can stop using the site and ask us to close your account at any time.

8. Intellectual property

Everything on this site — the BJD name, logo, character, video content, site design, and everything we or DangleVerse's AI generate — belongs to BJD or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other IP law. You can look at it, use a Custom Video or BJD On Demand video the way Section 4 describes, and play DangleVerse. You can't copy, resell, or build a competing product out of our site content, our AI outputs beyond your own personal video, or our brand.

9. Prohibited uses

Don't use this site to break the law, harass or threaten anyone, impersonate someone else, spread false or misleading information, spam anyone, or try to break, scrape, or overload the site or its underlying systems. Don't use bots, scrapers, or automated tools (including AI agents) to interact with the site in a way that hides that it's automated or that gets around rate limits, age checks, or content moderation. We can suspend or block access for any of this.

10. Third-party tools and links

Parts of the site may link to or use tools run by someone else (payment processing, hosting, and similar). We don't control those third parties and aren't responsible for their content, policies, or failures. If you leave our site through a link, that's at your own risk.

11. No promises about the site

Everything on this site — including product descriptions, delivery estimates, and site content — is provided "as is" and "as available." We don't guarantee the site will always be up, error-free, or exactly as pictured. We can correct errors, change prices, or change what's offered at any time.

12. Limits on what BJD is responsible for

To the extent the law allows, BJD isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this site — including anything another user submitted, anything our AI generated, or anything a third party did because of content posted or shared from this site. This doesn't limit liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit.

13. If something you did causes us a problem

If you break these Terms, misuse the site, or cause us a loss because you lied to us or violated someone else's rights, you're responsible for that — including reasonable costs we incur as a result, to the extent the law allows us to ask for that.

14. Changes to these Terms

We can update these Terms. When we make a material change, we'll update the date at the top and take a reasonable step to let you know — for material changes affecting DangleVerse specifically, that may mean asking you to re-confirm at your next login. If you keep using the site after an update, that means you agree to the new version.
